Rabbi Moshe Pantelat has produced a comprehensive guide to the Kosher kitchen geared to the particular concerns of the Russian reader. Pantelat provides a logical
rationale for the laws behind the practice, encouraging the reader to consider kashering his kitchen.
The book also contains all the practical information needed to get started, including a detailed description of the laws of kashering utensils. There is also a section that helps the reader figure out what to do in case of an accident. («Honey, watch out! You’re putting the milchig spoon into the meat soup») The reader learns what problems he can solve himself and when it is necessary to consult a rabbi.
The final chapter of the book, prepared by Rabbi Yakov Tipograf, deals with the multitude of Kashruth problems faced daily by Jews residing in the Former Soviet Union.
